You got Jokez.....

England's Funniest

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: "Thats the ugliest baby i've ever seen. Ugh!" The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: "The driver just insulted me!" The man says: "You go right up there and tell him off - go ahead, i'll hold your monkey for you."

character effects

After learning about these different movie clip properties (alpha, xscale, yscale, etc), is there a particular place in your game these will be useful? Please tell me about the parts of your game, for instance, powerups or dead enemies, that will be affected by these new properties you have learned about.

we will be using various properties for different movie clip instances. when a hero hits an enemy there will be a method to take 1 away from the total amount of times(3) that the enemy can be hit before the enemy falls to the ground and its _alpha property becomes = 0. seeming to the player that the hero prevailed over our enemy. when we use powerups that the character picks up i can add different color effects or change the movie clips _yscale ability to symbolize that the character has powered up in real time.

Timer

What area of your game will a timer help? Will timers be integral to your game?

the timer is an essential part of our game. the first levels timer is set to count down from 5 minutes at which time if the timer is equal to 0 then it displays the words "time is up!!". it helps to make the game more real in a way that you have to finish spelling a certain word before time runs out.

sound effects

Is sound an integral part of your game? Do you plan to have sound effect, background, both, etc?

sound is a very integral part of video gaming, we can use them to add to character effects and background music for the player to enjoy while focusing on playing an enjoyable game. we have background sound and are currently adding sound to our characters animations.

preloader

Think about the file size all of your assets. Will your game need a preloader? If so, what are the major type of assets that require you to preload your game?

a preloader is something that we will be able to use in loading each different level. it will require loading the bytes for everything including graphics, and sound.

collision detection

How will collision detection affect your game? What dynamics will it accomplish in the action of your game?

collision will be used in almost everything we go to use for our game. especially our drag and drop part in the game. it will definately give the game a feel that will distuingish it and make it stand apart from other type of games that have been developed prior to "Word Boxings" production.

special effects

this is something we will use as in text and animation on the timeline as well. later when i learn more in depth actionscript it will be incorporated into the code and be scripted to make things run smoother. using these tools with special effects is something that will help expand our horizons with our own creativity through these different effects.

moving on a path

moving on a path is very beneficial and will be something that we incorporate into our game in almost every aspect of its entirity. we will use motion tweens for coding enemies and as well as hit test collisions with enemies or level ups as in health specials etc. this gives the game some of its own magic when the player is playing through a level.
